Fettuccine is the name given to a particularly wide banded noodle that exceeds the tagliatelle by 3 mm with a width of 8 mm. This pasta comes from Italy, is made from the best durum wheat semolina, but without eggs. Ideal with all pasta sauces.
Spirali Grandi were originally made by quickly wrapping a piece of spaghetti around a large needle. It goes very well with a creamy sauce containing pieces of Italian spicy sausages.
Grooved shapes were in fact a solution discovered by die makers in the 1950s. The grooves prevented the pasta pieces from sticking together during the drying process.
